  • New Faces at 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech

    Goodland, KS. (09/04/2018)  – 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech is pleased to announce the recent hiring of a few new staff members that have become a part of the Maverick Family!

    As you pass by the Academic & Student Affairs Department, you’ll notice a new face. Mr. Matt Pounds has joined our team in the role of Dean of Academic Advancement. Mr. Pounds comes to us with 8 years experience as a teacher and he also served 23-years as a school principal. Mr. Pounds lives in Burlington, CO and his favorite thing at 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech, so far, is meeting new coworkers who come to work everyday and are purposeful in helping others to be successful.

    Hayley Hales is also new to the Academic & Student Affairs Department. Hayley is 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech’s new Director of Outreach. Hayley coordinates with area high schools so students are able to take college credit courses through 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech. She is originally from Longview, Texas and enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and most of all, spending time with friends and family.

    Next up, we have a new position in the Business Office. Alaina Long is 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech’s first Student Account Specialist. Alaina is originally from Logan, KS and she enjoys camping, fishing, traveling, and binge watching shows on Netflix. “I like how supportive everyone is,” said Alaina, “working at 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech feels like working with family. Everyone is friendly and caring”. Alaina also commented on how involved the college is within the surrounding counties, and she appreciates representing an institution that is committed to community.

    Finally, we welcome Natalia Barrera as the newest Admissions’ Representative. Natalia is a Goodland native who enjoys photography, traveling, and makeup. Natalia is great with prospective students when giving tours and going to high school visits. Natalia’s favorite part about working for 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech, so far, is the positive energy, “We all get along so well”, said Natalia, “and I get to meet new people everyday!”

    365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech is very excited to welcome our new team members to the Maverick Family. We wish them a successful school year!

  • First Annual Ag Expo To Be Hosted At 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech

    Goodland, KS. (08/21/2018)  – 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech will be hosting its first annual Ag Expo on August 29, 2018. The Tech’s Ag Expo aims to bring a variety of educational activities, commercial demonstrations, and exhibits to the community as well as to landowners, students, families and anyone who wants to know more about agriculture. 

    The morning of the event is dedicated to our Water Technology Farms Field Day with the Kansas Water Office, followed by lunch and a panel discussion with KARTA, and an afternoon of vendor exhibits and demonstrations at the Precision Ag Tech Farm. Big Iron will also be having an auction with proceeds going to the Precision Ag program and local FFA chapters. Local FFA students, college students, growers, and the general public are all invited. In addition, all Ag and related vendors are encouraged to participate with the promotion of their goods and services. We will also be opening our 40-acre precision-planted corn maze at the Tech Farm to all attendees. The maze costs just $3 per person over 5 and stays open till 7pm so bring the kids after school. The maze proceeds go to the Precision Ag student activities fund (tours, travel costs, food, etc.), and into making our September/October maze entertainment worth coming back for.

    “The Precision Agriculture program at 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech is expanding by leaps and bounds and working to impact the conversation about water, technology, and agriculture,” said President Ben Schears, “…The program has taken an incredible leap forward with the addition of our new Water Technology Farm - a 240 acre live operational farm incorporating some of the latest agriculture and water technology.”

  • Boots, Brews, and BBQ Fundraiser

    Goodland, KS. (08/22/2018)  – 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Kansas Technical College will be hosting its first annual Boots, Brews, and BBQ fundraising event on September 22, 2018, at the Precision Ag Farm (1200 E. 8th Street). The party will start at 6 PM (MT).

    This event will feature live music from Cari Dell Trio, a BBQ dinner, and craft beer sponsored by Mountain Cowboy Brewery and Cole Family farms. There will also be a cash bar available.

    So, come on out for the last hurrah of the summer and support a good cause!

  • 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech Welcomes Andrew Davison to Men’s Basketball Coaching Staff

    The coaching staff for the upcoming 2018-19 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech men's basketball season continues to take shape as head coach Nate Padia has announced the addition of Andrew Davison as assistant coach.

    “We are glad to welcome Andrew back to the Tech,” said President Ben Schears, “…he knows the culture of the college, the Goodland community, and that will help him hit the ground running.”

    Davison comes to 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech entering his fifth season of coaching. Davison started his career at Pratt Community College and then spent a year here at 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech. He went on to Colorado State University and finally, last year, he coached at New Mexico Highlands University. Davidson was happy to have the opportunity to return back to 365³Ô¹Ï²¿Âä Tech to coach under Padia.

    Davison expressed his optimism for the upcoming year saying, “My expectations for this year would be to make some noise and establish ourselves in the Jayhawk Conference!”

    Davison graduated from Emporia State University and is originally from Garden City, Kansas.
